Location of the monument:
This monument is Not visible from the road. It is located at N 34° 55.633  W 85° 16.2121. Map it

Parking is available on Vittetoe Road near  N 34° 55.6688  W 85° 16.1432 .


To reach this monument:
This monument the 58th North Carolina Infantry is located in the northwest section of the Chickamauga National Military Park, along a ridge called Snodgrass Hill, more specially on Hill #2 of Horseshoe Ridge. . To view this historical marker drive to the parking area on Snodgrass Hill, proceed westward on foot, along the southern crest of the ridge for a little more than 0.1 of a mile, to Hill #2, near the southern edge of the clearing, just inside of the woods, along a trail in front of the 35th Ohio Infantry Monument.

Very weathered and hard to read.


Comments about this monument:
The marker was erected by the state of North Carolina between 1900 and 1909. The marker is a 6' high x 2'6" x 2'6" granite block with rock-faced top and sides and a polished and inscribed front. It marks regiment's position at 6:00 pm on September 20, 1863.
