Comments about this monument:
This is a standard Illinois Monument constructed in 1899. It is a 7'6" x 4'4" x 4'6" rock-faced monument consisting of rectangular granite block with an inscribed polished front on 1'6" high granite base. The tops of both pieces are beveled. It marks the unit's position on Sept. 20, 1863, at 5:30 p.m.
