This monument is visible from the road. It is located at N 34° 56.1085  W 85° 15.6275. Map it

Parking is available on Vittetoe Rd near  N 34° 56.1604  W 85° 15.5831 .


To reach this monument:
The marker is on Layayette near the intersection of the Layayette and Vittetoe Roads. Layayette Road is heavily traveled. It is much safer to park on the side of Vittetoe Rd. and walk back to the tablet.

This marker was built in 1898, and is a standard Indiana regimental marker consists of a 4' x 4' x 4'8" high rock-faced oolitic stone block with a peaked top and a 12" x 18" bronze plaque affixed to its front. Marks regiment's position north of Kelly Field.
